Climate
The climate in Morocco is generally dry, although small amounts of rain do fall between November and March. Temperatures vary by season and location. Sometimes The southern and southeastern desert regions can reach very high temperatures during the hot summer months. The higher altitudes of the mountains are cool in summer evenings and freezing in winter. The early summer months are the most pleasant, as rain is not a threat and temperatures are warm during the day and cool at night.

4L Trophy
A student rally for humanitarian purposes, the 4L Trophy is a fun challenge that helps in the schooling of thousands of Moroccan children. The event starts in a different European country every year and crosses Morocco before ending in Marrakech for the final ceremony. The daily aim is to win each stage using a road book, a map of Morocco and a compass, while the overall aim is to bring into the country as many school supplies as possible.

Nomads Festival
This festival in M'Hamid features dance, music, exhibitions, conferences and handicraft displays, drawing a number of international artists. Performances are held at two sites, in the village itself and in a specially established nomadic camp in the desert.

Maroc Classic
Maroc Classic is Morocco's rally where gorgeous vintage vehicles race against prestigious and powerful cars on a varied road network. Participants are tested on 19 regularity tests, designed to assess the accuracy of the drivers' timekeeping. Covering a total of 2330km in seven stages, the 2010 Maroc Classic starts in Casablanca and ends in Marrakech, passing through the towns of Essaouira and Agadir amongst others. All types of cars are all welcome, including replicas, but must be built between 1930 and 1983. Vehicles which aren't eligible for the Maroc Classic may race in the Maroc Prestige, a similar event for cars manufactured from 1984 onwards.


Hassan II Golf Trophy
Founded by the late Prince Moulay Rachid, Morocco's Hassan II Golf Trophy has been taking place in Rabat since 1971. The prestigious tournament features professional international players as well as amateur Moroccan golfers competing for the US$600,000 prize money. As the longest running sports event held in Morocco, the Hassan II Golf Trophy has seen many professionals on its turf, launching the careers of the likes of Payne Stewart, Vijay Singh and David Toms. Also done alongside the Hassan II Golf Trophy is the Lalla Meryem Cup, where female players give their best shot for the prize money of US$120,000.

Marrakech International Magic Festival
A plethora of performances by international illusionists and magicians thrill audiences at the Marrakech International Magic Festival. The biggest shows are held at the Royal Theatre, and there are also free street performances throughout the city.

Rallye Aiicha des Gazelles
Open to women only, the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles sees professional and amateur drivers covering a 2500km route in the desert of south Morocco. This is essentially a land navigation event for motorized vehicles, including quad bikes, motorbikes and trucks. The use of modern GPS devices is not allowed and speed is not taken into account - the objective is to cover the entire route while checking off all the control points within a minimum distance.

Festival of visual arts and media
A various of media displays, competitions and workshops take over several venues in Casablanca during the annual Festival of Visual Arts & New Media. Launched in 2008, the event is rapidly gaining popularity among both professional groups and fresh talents. The festival features local and international arts, video, electronic music, dance, multimedia installations, screenings and more. Established artists, academic researchers and other specialists take part in debates and meetings, while emerging artists get the chance to prove themselves in two competitions - the International Competition of Art Schools and Cinema and the Videos Pocket competition.

The Sand Marathon
Based in the scenic, craggy desert outside Ouarzazate, marathon life centre’s around the camp in which competitors rest after a day's running. Although it might sound like hell on earth for 99% of the population, the race is without a doubt one of the most rewarding and intense in the world.

Jazzablanca Festival
A series of jazz-fusion concerts are organized for the annual Jazzablanca Festival, which takes place every April at the Megarama Casablanca cinema. The line-up features a number of performing artists from around the world.

Alizes Musical Spring Festival
Classical music and lyrical art come together at the Alizés Musical Spring Festival. The four-day celebration is held at venues around Essaouira and features visiting artists from Korea, Germany, Spain, America and Egypt.
