Anseba Province


Keren (formerly Cheren) is the second largest city in Eritrea and is one of the fastest growing cities in the country. The climate is semi-desert hot during summer and cold during winter.

Debub Region

 

also known as the Southern region. The archeological sites of Metera and Qohaito are located in Debub. The highest point in Eritrea, Mount Soira (3018 meters) is in this region.

Gash-Barka

Gash-Barka Region

the Gash Barka region makes up approximately one-third of Eritrea and is very rich in agriculture. Barentu hosts the regional administration of the country.

Maekel

Maekel Region

Also referred to as the Central region. ‎Asmara is the capital and largest city in Eritrea.

Northern Red Sea

Northern Red Sea Region

The Dahlak Archipelago is an island group located in the Red Sea near Massawa. The islands are home to a diverse marine life and sea-birds, and attract an increasing number of tourists. The pearl fisheries of the archipelago have been famous since Roman times and still produce a substantial number of pearls.
Semenawi Bahri National park is a protected area and although the park is not well known to international and domestic tourists, it is, however, rich in flora,wildlife and bird-watching.

Assab is a port city in the Southern Red Sea region.
