General Information
Nigeria is located on the western part of Africa and its economy is one of the fastest growing in the world and is the second largest in Africa. Nigeria has the highest population in all African countries and is the eighth most populous in the world. The Capital Lagos is known as the biggest city of the country covering a total area of 300 sq km. Tin, coal and crude oil are the major industrial products while rubber, palm oil, cocoa, rice, peanuts and millets are the main agricultural produce of Nigeria.

Primarily features a tropical kind of climate where most of the seasons are very humid and damp. There are two climatic seasons that prevail within Nigeria, the wet and the dry seasons. The weather of Nigeria is generally quite hot throughout the year, although there are variations in the climate in certain regions within the country. The southern part of Nigeria is relatively more humid and damp than the northern part. In the southern areas of Nigeria the dry seasons begin from the month of November and lasts till the month of March. The northern regions are much drier in nature in comparison to the southern parts.

Famous Nigerian National Parks

Both the reserves cover a wide variety of animals, It is an adventure for the tourists to visit the national park. It covers a landscape of 5,299sq.kms. The is Kainiji dam in this park, is also the most sought tourist attraction.
• Cross river national park: This park is famous among the tourists in all around the world as it is among the few last rain forests of the world. A large number of tourists come to visit the park. The animals like gorillas, leopards, white-faced monkeys, wild buffaloes and elephants are found in large number in this park. There are two more national parks of Nigeria are Yankari national park and Oban hills. The main aim of the Nigeria national parks is protection and preservation of the endangered species and the wildlife of Nigeria, as a whole.

Abuja
Tourist Attractions in Abuja are very interesting and includes natural and architectural wonders. The capital of the country, Abuja is an also a very important tourists destination of Nigeria. Lagos is currently taking steps to become a global city. The 2009 Eyo carnival which took place on the April 25th, was a step toward world city status. Currently, Lagos is primarily known as a business-oriented and a fast paced community. Lagos has a number of sandy beaches by the Atlantic Ocean. Two of the popular beaches include Bar Beach and Lekki Beach. Moreover in January 2009, a privately owned zoo was commissioned in the epe area of Lagos as it serves as a home for many animals that originate from Africa. Ibadan

Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove (2005)
The dense forest of the Osun Sacred Grove, on the outskirts of the city of Osogbo, is one of the remaining remnants of primary high forest in southern Nigeria. Regarded as the abode of the goddess of fertility Osun, one of the pantheon of Yoruba gods, the landscape of the grove and its river is dotted with sanctuaries and shrines, sculptures and art works in honour of Osun and other deities. The sacred grove, which is now seen as a symbol of identity for all Yoruba people, is probably the last in Yoruba culture. It testifies to the once widespread practice of establishing
sacred groves outside all settlements
