Competition 3
(Entries close on 31 October 2009)

Witsand is officially known as THE whale nursery of South Africa. This is due to the fact that San Sebastian Bay has the largest concentration of Southern Right Whales on the SA coastline. Their growth rate is 7% per annum.

The Mammal Institute of South Africa conducts helicopter surveys after the calving season each year towards the end of October and has gathered the following information on the number of calves born in San Sebastian Bay per annum:

Guess correctly and you could win...

An opportunity to view up to 60 whales per day from the boat free village of Witsand (Eastern Cape). Andre and Lorraine will treat you to a 2 night stay at Barry's Holiday Accommodation, which includes an 18 hole round of golf on a 9 hole golf course at a neighbouring town, a picnic breakfast basket and a boat ride. En-route to Witsand, Louiza invites you to enjoy a night in the romantic Berry Cottage at Wildebraam, Swellendam.  There will be a complimentary hamper of Wildebraam deli products in the winner’s room. Wildebraam offer a liqueur tasting experience. I have been told that aside from the ever popular Hazelnut and Youngberry Liqueurs the hot favourite at the moment is our new ChocChilli Liqueur! They have an extensive range of pickles, preserves and chutneys, but only the bravest should attempt the “ Lord of the Ring” and “Ring of Fire” chilli chutneys! This is a competition not to miss!!
